IADNAM, the Irish Association of Directors of Nursing and Midwifery, hosted a masterclass, ‘Resilience: Evaluating your strengths in challenging times’ for its members in the Aisling Hotel, Dublin on 20th January 2015. The class is one of a suite of resilience workshops run throughout the country by the National Leadership and Innovation Centre for Nursing and Midwifery, the Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director, and the HSE. On appraisal, the participants deemed the event of great benefit; they all now feel they have a variety of excellent materials to add to their resilience toolbox. They also found it to be a valuable opportunity to network and discuss opportunities and challenges. Deirdre Lang, Director of Nursing National Clinical Programme for Older People (NCPOP), and a member of the IADNAM executive, stated she found the session to be of huge benefit to her personally and would highly recommend the masterclass series to colleagues.
