Ms Georgina Bassett Honorary President of the Irish Association of Directors of Nursing and Midwifery IADNAM and Director of Nursing, Older Person Services in South East Community Healthcare.
Georgina is an RGN and qualified coach with an Advanced Diploma in Personal, Leadership & Executive Coaching. She holds an MSc in Healthcare Management and a post-graduate Diploma in Gerontological Nursing; she is currently a Director of Nursing in HSE Older Person Services, SECH. In addition to her many years of experience as Director of Nursing Care in Older Person Services, Georgina was seconded to the Office of Nursing and Midwifery Services, HSE as Leadership Advisor in the National Clinical Leadership Centre from 2015 -2018. Therein, she worked with a dedicated team to develop and implement a series of leadership development programmes for nurses and midwives across all sectors of the Irish health service.
Georgina is the current Honorary President of the Irish Association of Directors of Nursing and Midwifery (IADNAM) and has represented the association on a several national expert and steering groups including those involved with the development of the Clinical Leadership Competency Framework, the National Quality Care Metrics Project, the HSE Professional Development Planning (PDP) for Nurses and Midwives, the Department of Health Policy on Graduate, Specialist and Advanced Nursing and Midwifery Practice.
Georgina is an advocate and an activist for clinical leadership development across services and believes that nurses and midwives are key innovators and implementers in bringing about improvements in patient care outcomes.
