Paul Harding


Mr Paul Harding, Assistant Director of Nursing, Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin

Paul is currently working as Assistant Director of Nursing for Childrens Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin.

Paul Harding spent much of his nursing career in paediatrics working in operating theatres in Tallaght University Hospital and various other organisations before moving into management roles. Playing a key role in Clinical Integration, Clinical Project Management, Hospital Design, Education and was the nursing lead on the National Model of Care for Paediatric Anaesthesia.

In late 2014, Paul relocated to the CHI programme to work as a Hospital Design Coordinator on Design of the new children’s hospital.  In 2015, he took up the role as Project Lead for the Paediatric OPD & Urgent Care Services Project for CHI to ensure these centres open on time and deliver a new model of urgent and ambulatory care to the greater Dublin area. Paul also worked as part of the clinical team responsible for the clinical integration of the 39 clinical specialities across CHI at Temple St, Crumlin, and Tallaght. In Feb 2019, Paul took on the role of Manager for Childrens Health Ireland (CHI) at Connolly in Blanchardstown. He played a key role in commissioning of the facility before taking over day to day operations. This was the first component of the National Model of Care for Paediatrics and he managed both clinical and operational services.

Paul holds a Diploma in Management (NCI), a Diploma in Project Management (2015) and has completed his MSc in Leadership in the RCSI in 2019. He holds a strong belief in service improvement through user engagement. Involving patients, families and staff in the planning and decision making around the provision of their care.
